This night is all about charity as the designers’ creations will be auctioned, with the proceeds being allocated to scientific research concerning the early diagnosis of ovarian and endometrial cancer. The president of the Association Orsalia Parthenis will attend in order to coordinate the fashion show, together with the journalist Irini Nikolopoulou who will be hosting the event. Regarding the event and its scope, Ioustini Fragouli-Argyri, president of the Lyceum of Greek Women, said: “We Greeks of Canada are grateful to these great and renowned Greek designers for donating their creations to the Doveegene research, whose dissemination and universal recognition by the entire medical community will help save future generations of women from ovarian and endometrial cancer. At the same time, through this fashion show, we are showcasing Greek fashion which is as great as European and American fashion. I am proud that the Lyceum of Greek Women of Montreal is participating in the promotion of Greek creativity and fashion outside of Greece.”

The president of the Hellenic Fashion Designers Council, Orsalia Parthenis, added: “I was lucky enough to present my entire collection in Montreal during the Lyceum’s 1st fashion show in 2018 and I must say that the audience that consisted of Greek, Italian, Quebecois and Anglo-Canadian women, all enthusiastically greeted Greek fashion. The 2nd fashion show will highlight more aspects of Greek fashion, at the same time offering a significant amount to the cause, namely perfecting the new Doveegene test, for the early detection of ovarian cancer. I thank all my colleagues who will participate with their creations.”

The designers who will take part in the fashion show are: Vassilis Zoulias, Liana Camba, Angelos Bratis, Konstantinos Tsigaros, Dimitris Dassios, Ioanna Kourbela, Yiorgos Eleftheriades, Maison Faliakos, Denise Eleftheriou, Costarellos, Kathy Heyndels, Sotiris Georgiou, Chara Lebessis and Orsalia Parthenis.
