The initiative arose out of the need for interconnection, mutual support and the overall well-being of our members. The Association has started with 18 members, all well-reputable fashion designers. The goal is to bring together representatives of various industries such as designers, craftsmen, local suppliers and other professions in order to facilitate contact between them and to form strong professional ties within the clothing and textile industry for the holistic support of their creations. Our members’ professional development planning provides all the critical practical information so they can run their businesses more effectively, helping them gain valuable insights and implement growth strategies. Our talks, lectures, workshops and events cover topics such as branding, e-commerce, international market accessibility, domestic and international brands, marketing, PR, social media, investment seeking, labor law issues, etc.

The Association also looks forward to nurturing the country’s young talent with a number of educational initiatives such as the launch of the Fashion Academy, the establishment of annual scholarships, the application of state and community grants for existing and new designers, as well as the provision of lifelong learning for its members in both traditional skills and new technologies. Further initiatives concern the social and environmental impact of the fashion and textile industries both within Greece and in the wider region. Our goal is to achieve more viable and sustainable business models and practices, as well as to promote responsible consumer behavior within the framework of the circular economy and the healthy development of our industry.

The Hellenic Fashion Designers Council seeks to highlight Greek fashion as an innovative, high-quality industry. It is committed to promoting Greece as a competent and worthy competitive force in global markets. In the world of fashion, Greece will not just be “fashionable”, but will rather serve to represent the unparalleled timeless, vital presence of human civilization as it looks toward eternity.
